Very Disappointing
By Amy @ The Reading Realm
"Blaire, I'm not a romantic guy. I don't kiss and cuddle. It's all about the sex for me." - Rush
I could not agree more - this book has no real storyline - it's all about sex.
***SPOILERS***
THE GOOD:
The Concept:
The idea (although it's been done before), was promising. When I read the blurb I thought it sounded good - the bad boy & the sweet innocent girl. A cliche story perhaps, but hey, cliches work when executed well. But sadly this one just didn't work for me.
THE BAD:
The story:
This book is basically a watered down erotica, because nobody does anything but have sex or talk about it. Even when they are at work, all the customers flirt & ogle Blaire's 'perfect body' and she's asked to keep watch of her coworker Shelly to stop her from having sex in the bushes on the golf course while working (because apparently a warning from her boss isn't enough to stop this horny chick) Seriously, nothing else happens.
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with sex scenes, as long as they are relevant to the story & are well written - and these sex scenes are just bad. I personally prefer scenes were the two characters have feelings for each other but Blaire & Rush were just lusting after each other. For me their was no real emotional connection between them & therefore it just felt like I was reading about a dirty one night stand.
The romance:
I wouldn't really call what Blaire & Rush have a romance - it's just lust. They don't even know anything real about each other, except the fact that they both think each other have amazing bodies. I got tired of Blair telling us how beautiful his chest was. Nowhere does she mention anything about his personality or why she actually likes him.
I just didn't believe this relationship at all. And because of this the sex scenes between them felt cold & tacky. They weren't passionate & sensual scenes. All Rush ever did when they were together was say how hot her body was & how good she felt. And he was not exactly the most romantic dirty talker, their dialogue was seriously awkward.
Oh and the fact that Rush gets so 'caught up in the moment' he claims to forget to use protection...seriously...oh but don't worry cause next time Rush assures Blaire that he's 'clean' and that he'll 'pull-out' in time.
The characters:
Rush - I honestly don't understand all the fuss over Rush, I found him to be a complete a-hole. Call me crazy but if I saw a guy treat any women the way he does to his one night stand in that first scene (regardless of the fact that he told her it was a night thing) I would have absolutely no respect for him, let alone fall in love with him. I understand that he's supposed to be a 'bad boy', but even bad boys need a redeeming quality - he never once showed an ounce of guilt or respect to any of the women he treated badly, it was never acknowledged that he's done anything wrong. Besides, sleeping with a different woman every night doesn't make a character a 'bad boy', it just makes him a sleaze.
Blaire - From the first scene, where she pulls a gun on someone she thinks is going to attack her, we are told she is a strong & independent woman. But for the rest of the book she is a weak, pathetic doormat. She has absolutely no self respect. She walks in of Rush having sex on the verandah & what does she do...she stands and watches & wishes it was 'her legs he was between'. Yes that's right, sweet virginal Blaire is turned on by watching The Dirty Manwhore having sex with another women.
The Writing:
The lack of characterisation was seriously shocking. I still know very little about any of the characters apart front the fact that everyone is either a b**ch/a-hole or slut/manwhore (or quite often both!) Glines spends very little time developing character's personalities, so I found it difficult to relate to any of the them.
Another issue with the writing was how much we are told instead of shown things. Blaire's inner monologue drove me insane, with her constantly talking about how she knew Rush was bad for her but she didn't care because her was hot. Their relationship wasn't developed either, they hardly spoke to one another. There was no substance to the characters or the plot - it all felt very shallow.
FINAL WORD:
Sadly this book fell completely flat for me, the characters are bland stereotypes with no personalty and there was basically no storyline. This books reads like a horny 15 year old boy wrote it.
Women are either sluts or bi***es, and all the male characters are sex crazed who treat women as sex objects. Even Blaire who starts the book as an 'innocent virgin' ends the book as obsessed with sex as all the other characters. I get why people are loving this book - they want something sexy & I know that people will find this book sexy & that's fine, but this one just wasn't for me.
CONTENT:
Sexuality: Very Strong / highly descriptive sex scenes, unprotected sex
Violence: none
Language: Strong / Frequent use of s***, pu**y and f word
Drugs & alcohol: medium / underage drinking at nightclub, characters getting drunk & passing out

LOVED IT!
By Payton Stone
This is the first book in the Rosemary Beach series which has 13 books total. I’m so glad I finally got around to reading this because it was so good! I wasn’t expecting to be as caught up in the story as I was. But it only took me 1 day to read this and I cant wait to buy/read the next book in the series! I have so many expectations for Never too Far.
When we first meet Blaire, she is just pulling in to her new home in Florida. She completely won me over when she pulls a guy on the guy that swings her truck door open. That’s my kinda girl! A country girl from Alabama that knows how to take care of herself. I think thats why I enjoyed reading about Blaire so much because she did what it took to make she was good and she wasn’t afraid to get out there and work for it. Over the course of the story, we learn more and more about what Blaire went through with her mom, dad, and sister. Unfortunately, when secrets come to the surface everything comes crashing down for Blaire.
Rush has his own demons he’s trying to overcome throughout the story. Because of this he comes off as a major jerk throughout most of the book. But you could tell that there was more to him than that. Rush is completely swoon worthy! The first time he whispers into Blaire’s ear that she should stay away from him, I was #TeamRush and was rooting for them to get together. Despite Rush’s warning, Blaire is still extremely attracted to her him and I CANNOT BLAME HER one bit! I’ll take Rush with those silver eyes any day!
This story has the ever popular trope of every girl wants a bad guy to be good just for her and that’s exactly what Blaire gets.
There are a few other characters that play pretty important roles in the story, but not make an appearance very often.
Grant is the first person Blaire meets upon arriving in Florida. We find out the he is Rush’s brother and is completely opposite of Rush. Grant is super nice to Blaire throughout the whole story and it’s such a relief.
Woods is competing with Rush for Blaire’s attention. He’s so nice to her from the very beginning and he ALMOST has a chance. Once I learn how the story plays out, I cant help but wonder how things would’ve turned out had Blaire chosen to pursue Woods instead of Rush.
Nan. Nanette. Where to even begin with this woman. I hated her. She was the epitome of a spoiled rich brat. She hates Blaire from the second she lays eyes on her and I just cannot figure out why. But EVERYONE else in Rosemary Beach seems to know EXACTLY why. It’s this big secret that everyone is keeping on behalf of Rush and Nan because it’s not anyone’s business (except Nan) to tell Blaire the details of. Once the secret is finally revealed, I try to feel sorry for Nan. But I just cant and I don’t. It’s no excuse in my opinion.
The ending. I HATE IT. It’s horrible. It makes me want to strangle Blaire. How can she be so STUPID? I just don’t understand how learning the truth of what the secret is was worth giving up the love she had with Rush. But she does. Dummy. It gets even worse when Rush shows up and begs her not to give up on her. Stupid, stupid girl.
I immediately needed the next book in the series because I was having a hard time recovering from the end of the book. My heart was literally shattered and there’s only one thing that could put it back together, which I’m hoping to see in the next book!

Love it!
By Stephanie
So this was one of the first books I found when I joined goodreads and I just now got to read it. Since then Glines has become one of my favorite authors. I love her characters, the way she writes and the plots she comes up with. They never disappoint me and I can never put the books down. This one was no different.
Spoilers Ahead:
Blaire Wynn: she is probably a character that I can relate to the most out of all the books I've read. I find myself having more in common with her. She's completely clueless when it comes to guys. She's determined, independent, hard-work and caring. She's a great character. She is completely alone in this world which is sad but it's only made her stronger.
Rush Finaly: Let me start out by saying I totally have a Rush Crush! One of my all time favorite male characters! He's a total bad boy but you see him start to change through out the book and fall for Blaire which is every girls dream.
Now enter the biggest and most shocking plot twist ever! I'm usually pretty good and figuring out the "big secret" in books but not in this one. I don't want to give it away but it is what you least expect not to mention it will rip apart the couple you have come to love. It will change Blaire in more ways than you think possible. I only hope it gets better in the next book.
