About the Author
Hugh Thomas naci� en Windsor, Inglaterra, en 1931. Es uno de los m�s prestigiosos historiadores contempor�neos. Ha sido catedr�tico en la Universidad de Reading y profesor invitado en numerosos centros especializados. Es miembro de la Real Academia Espa�ola de la Historia y de la Royal Historical Society. Ha recibido importan�tes premios y distinciones por sus trabajos de investigaci�n. Entre sus obras destacan La gue�rra civil espa�ola y La historia inacabada del mundo. Hugh Thomas est� considerado como una referencia indiscutible de la historiograf�a brit�nica y espa�ola.

Libro incompleto

Este libro me decepciono. Aunque el autor es un reconocido historiador y escritor, este libro le da demasiado �nfasis al aspecto econ�mico y a la producci�n azucarera. Habla muy poco de las figuras principales de la historia cubana. No comenta nada sobre la vida social y cultural de Cuba. A veces le da mas importancia a personajes de EU y Espa�a, como si la historia de Cuba hubiera sido regida exclusivamente por estos pa�ses.
